Cap 02: Deadstock French 'Casquette' Flat Cap from early 1950's (Sold)

A classic French casquette from the early 1950's. The 100% wool crepe is a beautiful deep slate blue with reddish/brown undertones - see close up views of the fabric to see the colors that make it up. The pattern is one of the most subtle I have ever seen - please check out the overhead view to see the stripe.

Note - the close ups of the fabric and snap are the closest in terms of actual color - this was a hard fabric to photograph.

Never worn, this 'deadstock' cap was stored in a stockroom for the last 60 years. Beginning as an extra small size 6 5/8", it was washed and slowly and carefully resized up to 7 1/8" (57cm).  Label states: "FRANCE - La Casquette de Qualité - Marque Déposée"

Cap is in excellent condition with pristine lining and strong brim/snap closure. Study the last image of the rear left side, which has a faded fold-line from storage. Although it is visible, it is still eminently wearable.

Like all the caps I sell, this has been carefully washed to remove dust and storage folds and the cap reshaped to its original glory.

SIZE: Medium - 7 1/8"  /  57cm  /  22 1/4"
